Hello honey bunnies! How are you? How have you been keeping up with the pandemic and all? It’s been a while since I last posted and I am so sorry about that. I made the move from blogger to WordPress, it wasn’t easy lol. It took me days to move, import my content, fix broken links and all. I was busy with moving and everything that comes with it and that’s why I haven’t posted in a while. It was quite stressful but I’m glad I made the move. Also, I have been so lazy to write a post haha. I don’t schedule posts so much as I prefer to write as I go and so I didn’t have any already scheduled post to publish during my lazy days haha. I have been going through a whole lot lately, trying to process a lot and today I will be talking about challenges and why they are important.
A challenge is something that puts you to the test. Everyone has been through one challenge or the other but are challenges bad? Should you see challenges as a setback or a stepping stone? For me, challenges are not bad, they are good. Challenges bring out the best in you. The myth of a life without challenges doesn’t exist and no matter how rosy life is, there will always be challenges. A life without obstacles/challenges may seem amazing but I have come to realize that problems and challenges are inevitable and are also necessary if we want to become the best version of ourselves.
Challenges bring out the best in you. They make you stronger. They push you to be the best version of yourself. This post is for everyone out there who is going through one challenge or the other. This post is here to let you know that challenges will only help make you stronger and better. Challenges build us. So many of us are going through different challenges but have we ever sat down to think about the importance of challenges? Challenges and obstacles are part of life. Some of us wouldn’t be as strong as we are today if not for the challenges we have gone through. Let’s look at some benefits of challenges.
BENEFITS OF CHALLENGES
1) Challenges build our strength and belief in ourselves: So many of us doubt our capabilities and under-estimate ourselves but challenges remind us that we are stronger than we know/think we are. Challenges make us do things we never thought we could do. They make us wiser, more willing to take risks, confident in our abilities. They make us an overall better person and they build our resilience too.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice – Bob Marley
2) Challenges help us appreciate the little things: Most times, we take the little things for granted, we throw the term *gratitude* away but challenges helps bring back the attitude of gratitude. Take a look at the pandemic for instance. Before the pandemic, many of us used to see being able to go out as a normal thing, a no-brainer and all but right now, in the middle of the pandemic, with our butts stuck in our homes, a lot of us have started to appreciate being able to go out. Most times, we don’t really know what we have until we lose it but challenges open our eyes to the little things that really matter which we used to take for granted.
3) Challenges remind you of the fact that you are human: So many of us feel like we are gods and goddesses who can’t make mistakes or have any weaknesses until a challenge comes by. Challenges remind us of the fact that we are humans, we have weaknesses and limitations. They remind us that there is still a lot more to be learnt and they help reduce our ego.
If everything were perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow – Beyoncé
4) Challenges make you value your achievements even more: When you overcome countless challenges to achieve a particular thing, you appreciate your achievements way more than you would appreciate it if you had everything on a platter of gold. Some accomplishments wouldn’t be as valued as they are if they were less challenging. Imagine, I was hungry and someone walked up to me and handed me a plate of food. Of course, I would appreciate it but I would definitely value it more if I had to struggle and jump some hurdles to get that food. Challenges make your accomplishments more worth it!
Challenges won’t destroy you. They’ll make you better. Challenges though tough, could make you cry, feel sad and all are an incredible necessity for becoming the best version of yourself. If we look back and reflect on our lives, we will realize that the challenges rather than the joyful moments shaped us into the person we are today. Always see challenges as a stepping stone, a learning experience and a mind builder. Challenges are placed in your life to help you grow and I feel like the universe will never test you with a challenge you can’t overcome. Whatever challenge you have faced or are facing was given to you because you are capable of overcoming it. It is 100% okay for challenges to come your way!
