AD – This is a sponsored post. Today, I’ll be sharing 4 smart tips to make moving easier. The last two months were hectic for me. I had so much to attend to, I could barely keep up with blogging. I Took A Blogging Break! which was fabulous, I had the opportunity to meet people who inspired me to put in my best. Then I landed this opportunity and believe me, it is the perfect way to make up for all the stress hahaha.
Moving in can be stressful right? I have been there and I know it can be an absolute headache. We all have had to move at one point or another. Either to a new home, a new office and the likes and it can be stressful, time consuming and exhausting. You’ve done the whole checking and making sure your new home, office is in good shape and here comes the moving phase. The much dreaded phase! What do you do? Here are 4 smart tips to make moving easier
Start packing early
Packing early can be a life saver! It helps you figure out the items you want to take with you, be more relaxed while packing and most importantly, it helps take the stress of last minute packing off. I hate packing late. The panic, tension and rush that comes with trying to get everything packed in a short time is not by any means my favorite thing. Pack early. If you are going to move 2 months from now. Start packing 1 month prior to the day you are going to move. When you start packing early, you’ll have enough time to pack, make sure you aren’t leaving anything important behind. And you’ll be able to pack more effectively as opposed to packing everything all at once within a short period of time.
Hire professionals movers to do it for you
In my opinion, hiring professional movers is the best thing to do when moving. It saves time, eliminates the stress that comes with having to move yourself and much more. Instead of taking all the trouble, relax and let Fresh start – The Moving Crew Springfield do it for you.
Who are Fresh start – The Moving Crew Springfield?
Fresh Start – The Moving Crew Springfield is one of the most trusted moving companies in Worcester county, MA, New England. Their warehouses are climate controlled so you don’t have to worry about humidity or pests taking over your belongings. Most importantly, they handle your items with care! If you need a reliable, trusted and competent brand to help you move, you can count on Fresh start – The Moving Crew Springfield.

Use boxes
Boxes for packing never go out of style. Do they? I love boxes because they are such a great way to get organized. When packing for a move, use boxes and label each of them based on their content. You can put all your skirts in a box and give that box the label “skirts“. Boxes help you be more organized with your packing and they help protect your items. Also, they are cheap, light weight and they have little to no negative impact on the environment. What better way is there to have your things organized and nicely packed while making sure the environment is protected than using boxes?
Do away with unwanted items
When moving in, it is important to take only items that you need. Taking irrelevant things or things that you do not need will only make the whole process of packing and moving in more difficult. Do away with those things you do not need. If possible donate them to those who would need them, sell or throw them away. Cut back on all clutter. By doing so, you’ll have less to move and you’ll start off with your new place on a clean and more organized note.
When I moved from the UK to the USA I went too far with taking as little as possible. I regret not hanging on to more stuff so my advice would be to think really carefully about what you’re not going to bring with you to your new place. Definitely, sorting through items and selling/gifting/recycling what you’re not going to move with is a great idea, but don’t be too quick to do this. Use storage if possible for undecided items. Fab post!
I think moving can be the most enthusiastic moment as well as the most stressful one at the same time! We are planning on moving soon so all the tips are highly appreciated! Being organised is a must but also getting rid of things you are not going to need anymore! x
I can’t stress enough how much better it is to get movers to help you when moving. I messed up my knees when I was moving into my current place in 2008 and they’ve never recovered.
These are great tips for making the move easier! Packing smartly and efficiently is so important! x

These are good tips. Start packing early is a good thing to do. It helps you identify what you need, what you don’t need and what else you need to prepare. Good post! Thank you for sharing.
Oh wow I forgot how stressful moving can be! So many great tips in this post, I know it will help so many movers!

Moving can be so stressful so you’re right about packing early and getting a helping hand xx
These are great tips. Totally agreeing with the decluttering point and yes hiring professionals to move it for you. They make moving so easy. This is a helpful post.
It’s been several years since I last moved but I absolutely agree with all of your points! Hiring movers is imperative. Even when you think you don’t have that much stuff, it’s crazy how quickly boxes can fill. No one wants to make 1000 trips to/from the vehicle to the old/new place, no one!!
Great ideas. We have moved a lot including cross country. We moved from USA to UK almost 12 years ago. Then within London, we have moved several times before moving out to Manchester. So yes, we have had a huge experience with moving. The most beneficial from all the 4 ideas I think is the last one. Doing away with unwanted items. We have this habit of not taking unwanted items out of the house and that hits hard when we want to move. So for me that’s the one which is very important. Thanks for sharing.
Doing away with unwanted items is so key! I used to be hoarder but have changed that haha. Great post.
I use these four tips when I move. When you live in a house and you have to move, there is so much to do that it’s in your best interest to pack early and declutter. Otherwise, you won’t be ready when the movers arrive. For the third tip about boxes, I would add to also write the room where the contents will go in your new place. It will help you save time when you unpack everything. Great post!

These are some great tips! Our next move will probably be cross-country, and we’ll most likely need to hire movers. It’s definitely a good idea to downsize as you’re packing and unpacking, and just get rid of anything you haven’t used in a while or feel like you won’t need or use in your new place. I do that every time I move.
I can’t stand moving. It is one of my least favourite things. In our last move we hired movers for the larger and heavier objects and honestly it was fantastic. It relieved so much stress! The one thing I do like about moving is tossing unwanted items as you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!
I moved in January and really enjoyed the process. Packing early and doing away with the unwanted items helped a ton. xx

We just bought a house so we’ve been working on a lot of these! We recently went through our whole home and got rid of a TON of items we no longer need. I’m selling some of my old clothing, donating other things to goodwill, and we found so much old junk to trash too. Now, it’s time to begin packing. I’m nervous but also excited! I appreciate your tips!
I totally agree about using professional movers it makes a HUGE difference. I will have to check them out, thanks for the heads up.

Great advice for moving in! Although, it is ideal to start packing a month earlier, all 3 times I had to move I had only two weeks available so it was really stressful!
Fantastic article! Having moved in the last few years, I wish I had these tips to work with. It was such a mess. Mostly because of the people we were buying the house off.
Great post! I recently moved and these are some fantastic tips to make it as smooth as possible x
This couldn’t have come at a better time! I’m in the process of packing. We are moving in two weeks. Starting your packing early is definitely the way to go. Thanks for sharing your moving tips!
I have moved a LOT and can say these are great tips! I find labelling my boxes with detail is the most helpful thing. Especially for kitchen items because it’s such a pain to have to search through every box for that one item you need to cook dinner. Great post! 🙂
Moving is a golden opportunity to get in some decluttering on the side. When packing, it is easy to spot little items that you do not need/want anymore and set them aside to give away. Also love your tip for packing into labeled boxes; it makes it easy to unpack later and you know where everything is.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Moving can be stressful but it’s good to plan ahead. I always try to pack ahead of time and using boxes is great.
These are really useful tips. Packing early and taking out the things you don’t need is a great start.
Great tips! We moved recently and did it ourselves…. Never again LOL! I will most definitely be paying a company next time we move x

These are some great tips! Moving can be such a stressful process so starting to pack early is definitely something that really helps.
These are great tips. I usually have a nice list of all the things I need to pack and I label the boxes as it makes unpacking easier! Thanks for these tips, I love the one about getting rid of things as you pack! Em x
Packing 1 month in advance is a really great tip I can relate to that. Professional movers is the best thing but also can get expensive. And deluttering in advance is necessary. Great tips. Xx
