Today, I’ll be talking about the topic you are stronger than you think. It’s 3:04am and I’m awake staring at the ceiling, just thinking, unable to fathom why I have been feeling this way lately. You know what, life’s crazy. Funny thing is life doesn’t always go as planned. Lately, I would say that my mental health has seen some terrible spirals.
If you know me, I am always happy and energetic but these past few days, I have found myself sad for no reason in particular. I haven’t been my happy self in the past couple of days and it really sucks. Now I thought, I would just leave a word of encouragement for anyone out there who might be in a similar position. I want you to know that you are stronger than you think.
Hey you! Yes you! You haven’t been in your best state, life seems to have taken a toll on you and you are probably feeling messed up at the moment. Are you allowed to feel this way?! YES. Your feelings are valid and you are allowed to feel this way. It’s crucial to allow yourself feel your feelings. I am always looking to become a better version of myself and in my journey to becoming a better me, I have realized that allowing ourselves to feel our feelings is crucial and important for our mental health.
I won’t lie, I used to hide my feelings a lot! I would be a mess and you’ll still see a smile on my face. I realized that pretending to be happy when I’m not is not by any means the best way to handle the situation. It’s not an healthy way to handle the situation either! In most cases, you feel way worse after your little charade is over. Now, do I pretend to be happy when I am sad, NO. Everyone has ups and downs. Even those who seem to have their shit together have ups and downs as well. It’s normal for you to have bad days. I mean….

What do I do to make myself feel better?
Pray to God
Now so many of you probably already thinking prayers don’t help. Well they do! I have tried it and it works. God hears our prayers. If you bring him into your situation, he will help you! The next time you find yourself in a bad place or the next time you feel stuck, pray to God. He’ll answer you!
Cry if you want to
So many of us underrate the usefulness of crying. Crying isn’t always a bad thing. Whenever I am not in the best condition, crying always makes me feel better (maybe not a 100% better) but it relieves me of a considerable amount of the heaviness in my heart. So whenever I am not in a good place mentally, I cry if I feel the need to, as crying can be a great way to let it all out!

Pay no attention to haters
See, in your vulnerable state, things tend to hit you harder than normal. Sometimes, in my vulnerable state, I get bothered by things I wouldn’t normally get bothered by, I overthink things and all that. Most times, haters want to come for you when they realize that you are not in the best state. Pay no attention to haters and don’t let them make you feel even worse. Like I always say, they are not worth it!
Get some self love in
I am a big advocate for self love. And I try to practice it as often as possible. I practice self love all the time (in good and in bad times) but in my opinion, in bad times, challenging times, and times when you are literally struggling to get through each day, you need to give yourself extra, extra, extra loving and pampering! Journal, take a walk, revisit memories, spend alone time, treat yourself to a spa night and just spoil yourself! You totally deserve it.
Avoid comparing yourself to others
Comparison is the thief of joy. And comparing yourself to others can never be of help to you. Comparing yourself to others will only make you feel worse and feel like others are better of which is an absolute lie. Remember it’s always you against yourself. You should always aim to be better than you were yesterday and keep improving each day! It’s you against yourself not you against anyone else!
Talk to someone
Ever heard the phrase, a problem shared is a problem solved? Well that’s facts! Only if it’s shared with the right person tho. Whenever you find yourself struggling, talk to someone (a trusted person) about your feelings. Talking to the right person can help you feel way way better.
We all have bad days but you are stronger than you think! You are unique! You are blessed, you are stronger than your challenges. I believe in you. Believe in yourself as well. You are stronger than you think. You are stronger than you think.
When life seems to hit you hard, you are stronger than you think. When all hope seems to be lost, you are stronger than you think. Yes! you are stronger than you think. No matter what you are going through, you are going to scale through! You are way stronger than you know!
Have faith, hold on, don’t give up and keep fighting like the strong human that you are. The best is yet to come. You are stronger than you think.
